Lauren Oddo, Ph.D.

 

Dr. Lauren Oddo is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address ADHD, disruptive behaviors, mood and anxiety disorders, and interpersonal difficulties across the lifespan. She provides individual therapy, family therapy, behavioral parent training, and she is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist. Dr. Oddo is also trained in motivational interviewing, an evidence-based counseling style that aims to help clients find their own inspiration to make positive changes in their thinking and behavior. In addition, Dr. Oddo provides comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations.

Dr. Oddo has an extensive research background in developing and evaluating psychosocial treatments that strengthen attention, motivation, mood, and executive functions in children and adolescents. She has received recognition from the scientific community, including awards from the National Institutes of Health, American Psychological Association, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD).

Dr. Oddo graduated from the University of Richmond, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her internship at VCU Health System’s Virginia Treatment Center for Children. Dr. Oddo further pursued research training as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Implementation Sciences at VCU.
