Jennine Moritz, Ph.D.
Dr. Moritz is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has provided child, adolescent, and family therapy, and psychological evaluations for over 30 years in the Richmond area. She utilizes a family systems framework and play therapy techniques as well as attachment-based theory and interventions to strengthen the parent-child relationship. She has extensive experience working with children and families with histories of trauma and attachment difficulties. Dr. Moritz is a certified Circle of Security® therapist and is dedicated to supporting parents in better understanding their children's needs and behaviors. As the mother of three young adults she has a first-hand awareness of how important and at times stressful the job of parenting is and is passionate about nurturing other parents' relationships with their children.
Dr. Moritz received her Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of the South – Sewanee. She completed her graduate training in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Florida, where she received her Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology, with a minor in Community and Family Public Health. She then moved to Richmond where she completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC), part of the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health System. She served as Training Director for the VTCC predoctoral internship program for seven years before transitioning from that position to work with children and families at Hanover Family Physicians. She continues to serve as Assistant Clinical Professor in the VCU Department of Psychiatry and teaches and supervises predoctoral psychology interns at VTCC. Supporting students and practitioners in their professional development, through teaching and supervision, is a long-standing passion of Dr. Moritz' that she brings to her role as Executive Clinical Director at Partners In Parenting.
