Jen Cecilione Herbst, Ph.D.

Dr. Jennifer Lynn Cecilione Herbst is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with her PhD in clinical psychology, with a concentration in child and adolescent mental health. She also completed her pre-doctoral internship at West Virginia University’s School of Medicine, where she focused on child clinical and pediatric therapy and assessment. Dr. Herbst has practiced in a variety settings, including primary care, specialty pediatric clinics (e.g., neurodevelopmental, eating disorder, and gender-affirming care centers) as well as private practice.

In her role at Partners in Parenting, Dr. Herbst will conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations with youth and their families. She will also provide therapy to youth and families, utilizing evidenced based treatments while implementing a shared decision making approach, inviting families to be active participants in decision making regarding their mental health care. Shared decision making is one method by which providers can adapt evidence based treatments to better fit the needs and contexts of individual families, thereby delivering more culturally humble and individualized treatments. Dr. Herbst’s areas of clinical interest include working with youth struggling with internalizing concerns (e.g., anxiety, OCD) as well as neurodiverse youth (i.e., youth with autism, ADHD).
