Kelly O'Connor, Ph.D.

Dr. O'Connor is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides psychological evaluation services to children, adolescents, and parents. Dr. O'Connor obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) after completing her clinical residency on the Child Track at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She has broad expertise in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents, as well as specific expertise in the assessment and treatment of youth with minoritized identities, externalizing behavior problems, ADHD, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. O'Connor has worked in a variety of settings, including but not limited to an ADHD Specialty Clinic at VCU, National Crime Victims Center at MUSC, integrated pediatric primary care at VCU Health, as well as a maximum security juvenile correctional facility in Bon Air, VA. Dr. O'Connor believes that an individual’s strengths and positive attributes are just important as the concerns that led them to seek a psychological evaluation, and that one's culture and context plays an important role in one's life experiences and, in turn, their specific treatment needs. As a result, she takes a strengths-based and culturally sensitive approach to understanding each client's presenting concerns and providing appropriate treatment recommendations.
