Annie Wright, Ph.D.

Dr. Annie Wright received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She completed her clinical internship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children in Richmond, VA. She then completed a research Postdoctoral Fellowship through the Rudd Adoption Research Program at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Wright’s clinical interests focus on attachment, trauma, depression and anxiety disorders. She has trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Exposure with Response-Prevention (ExRP) Therapy, as well as Adoption-Specific Therapy through the Center for Adoption Support and Education (CASE). In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wright has an active program of research at VCU, where she studies risk and resilience among children who experience separation from their parents. She has worked with adopted youth and their caregivers, youth in foster care, foster parents, and incarcerated parents seeking to maintain positive relationships with their children. In her role at Partners in Parenting, Dr. Wright will specialize in psychological evaluation services and evidence-based treatment for children and families.
