
Cate Morales, Ph.D.
Dr. Cate Morales is a clinical psychologist and postdoctoral fellow who provides comprehensive multi-systemic psychological evaluations. She specializes in providing evidence-based assessment and care to individuals struggling with eating disorders and a range of co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD. Dr. Morales has administered evidence-based treatments in a variety of settings for children and their families (e.g., outpatient, intensive outpatient, inpatient, specialty pediatric clinics). She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy techniques, incorporating flexibility and cultural humility to tailor individualized treatment plans to each person’s unique experiences and needs. She fosters a collaborative and goal-oriented stance with individuals to create a nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. Dr. Morales graduated from Hofstra University with her PhD in Clinical Psychology and a concentration in child and adolescent mental health. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Virginia Treatment Center for Children and is currently completing her post-doctoral fellowship in the Translational Research on Eating and Affect Lab at VCU. She is especially passionate about improving access to eating disorder care in the RVA area.
