Meghan Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Smith is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, play-based, family systems, and parent-child interactional interventions. She emphasizes using case conceptualization and treatment goals to inform treatment planning. Dr. Smith has a special interest in working with children with anxiety, trauma, and behavioral difficulties.
Dr. Smith earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Virginia. She completed her graduate training and earned her doctorate in Clinical Child Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She then completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC) in Richmond. Her predoctoral internship training consisted of clinical work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also engaged in consultation-liaison services with children with a multitude of chronic and acute medical issues. Dr. Smith’s postdoctoral training focused on assessment and treatment of children with developmental disabilities, anxiety, and trauma.
